The fruit fly is a species of the common housefly and is distinguished by its red eyes, tan thorax and black abdomen. They get their name because of their strong attraction to ripening or rotting fruit, which serves as a food source as well as a place to lay their eggs.
Adult fruit flies typically reach 3-4 mm in length and live 40 to 50 days. They can often be seen in well known coffee shops, pubs, supermarkets and soda dispensers. A recent study in 2018 found evidence of fruit flies’ ability to transfer harmful bacteria from a contaminated source to surfaces or ready-to-eat food.
If you see small flies that have suddenly become an infestation you may have a fruit fly problem. No-Fli is famous for the No-Fli commercial insect killer and have now produced a new product to help you control the fruit flies which are attracted to sugary, organic materials. As their name suggests, they are commonly found infesting fruit.
However, fruit flies are also capable of breeding in decaying meat, trash bins and large spills of soda or alcohol.

The fruit Fli helps you trap, monitor and control fruit flies reducing and eliminating on an ongoing basis.
Using a specially formulated attractant, Fruit flies are trapped and reduced over a monthly period. At the end of the month simply replace the old trap for a new and continue to follow the directions below:
1. Dispose of any overripe or rotten fruit and cover all fresh fruit you may be using. ideally, keep covered in a refrigerator.
2. Regularly wipe counters, clean spills, and empty rubbish bins to help fruit fly infestations from taking off.
3. Fruit flies may use unclean drains as a breeding ground so ensure you check and regularly clean with bleach or a strong cleaner.
4. clean your coffee syrups and soda dispensers every night and dry them, along with beer trays and any spillage. cover all bottles with cellophane at the end of every night.
5. At least once a month pull out equipment and wash floors thoroughly.
6. Space out your NO-FLi fruit trap and lure so you are covering the area most affected. They are designed to move around and will cover an area of up to 10m2 per trap.
By following the above steps and using the No-Fli trap and lure we guarantee you will see a reduction of these small flies and the program is designed to act as an early warning sign if they come back! So continue using 12 months and you will get on top of your fruit fly problem for good!
